Round the Mountain Track  The Round the Mountain Track is described clockwise starting from the carpark at the Mountain House, Pembroke Road Mountain House to Dawson Falls - 2 hours Dawson Falls to Lake Dive hut -3 to 4 hours Lake Dive hut to Waiaua Gorge hut - 6 to 7 hours Waiaua Gorge hut to Kahui hut - 1 to 2  hours Kahui hut to Holly hut - 4 to 6 hours Holly hut to North Egmont - 4 to 5 hours North Egmont to Maketawa hut - 1 to 2 hours Maketawa hut to Mountain House - 3 hours Direct from Holly hut to Mountain House via the Plateau - 4 hours
Five day Trek Clockwise from the Mountain House, the first days tramp is to Lake /dive Hut. /the second day is the traverse to Waiaua Gorge Hut. This is generally considered to be the hardest section of the trek, often muddy. The third day is from Waiaua Gorge Hut to Holly Hut, the longest but not as hard as day two. The fourt day is the trek from Holly Hut to Maketawa Hut and the final day is the three hour tramp from Maketawa back to civilisation to the Mountain House. Four Day Trek The four day alternative is the same as the five day trek, except on day four where you take th higher route to Tahurangi Lodge and return directly to the Plateau and down to the Mountain House.
