Anderson's Alpine Lodge is located on the western side of the North Island.

To get to Anderson's Alpine Lodge while travelling along State Highway 3 turn west onto Pembroke Rd. You will notice (on a fine day) that you are now heading towards Mt Egmont/Taranaki. From the turnoff with SH3 drive for approximately 10 minutes up Pembroke Rd until you reach the Andersons Alpine Lodge. If you enter the national park (signposted) you have gone too far. The Mountain House is further up the road at 846m above sea level and the Plateau is another 10 minutes drive bringing you above the bushline giving spectacular views at 1172 m. The summit is 2518m.
